A journalist and author, Michael Friscolanti was a staff reporter at The Toronto Star and National Post before spending 12 years as a Senior Writer at Maclean’s magazine. His in-depth writing has earned four National Magazine Awards and three CAJ awards for investigative journalism. His first book, Friendly Fire: The Untold Story of the U.S. Bombing that Killed Four Canadian Soldiers in Afghanistan, was published in 2005. Friscolanti was appointed Editor-In-Chief of Village Media in January 2022.

Scott has worked in media for over 35 years, having spent the bulk of his career in radio. He started out as an on-air host working at a number of stations including CFTR and CHFI in Toronto, working his way up to senior level management positions. Connecting with an audience through engaging content has always been his first love, though. In addition to Inside the Village, Scott also hosts a show called Up Close & Personal, and a segment called Behind the Scenes, highlighting the work of Village journalists, all of which is available across the Village Media Network.
